First of all, we would like to thank whoever sent us this CD for airplay on 'Proud to be Irish'. It has been a very popular CD so far. This CD features songs by such eminent Irish artists such as Mary Black, The Rankin Family and The Chieftains, Solas, Altan, Dougie MacLean and many, many others. We are just reacquainting ourselves with some of the lesser known songs on this CD for the show tomorrow. First of all, we'd like to thank whoever sent us this Croabh Rua CD. I don't even remember who it was, unfortunately. We used to play Croabh Rua often on 'Proud to be Irish' in the past, but we just slowly got out of the habit of playing them now. It has been great to refresh our memories about the songs that they sing for possible airplay during 'Old-Fashioned Sunday' this coming Sunday.

First of all, we would like to thank whoever sent us this CD for airplay on 'Proud to be Irish'. We have played it repeatedly through the years and it is extremely popular with our listeners. As a matter of fact, I believe that this was the first CD ever played on 'Proud to be Irish' on the first show in 1992! :) We received a desperate phone call from our station manager at the time and I think that Another Country by The Chieftains was the only CD that he had brought with him to last the entire three hour long show! :)

Easter With 'Proud to be Irish'

Hello everyone! :) Just a little note to share the good news officially. Today, we were asked by our friend and fellow radio show host Ed Smith - host of 'Smitty and Friends' - the show that is on directly after ours from 3 PM to 6 PM every Sunday. Smitty requested that we do four hours of 'Proud to be Irish' on Easter Sunday! :) Of course, we agreed whole-heartedly to help him out in any way that we can. :)

Celtic Thunder Concert on PBS

Many thanks to Diane for alerting us to Celtic Thunder on PBS from 6 PM to 8 PM tonight. I watched the entire show and as Diane told me last week: "Corned beef and cabbage and Celtic Thunder. How can you go wrong?" It was a great show, Diane! :)
